P90x Day 4
Yoga. Ok, gonna get this out of the way first. I've always been one of those people who have hated on yoga without trying it condemning it to be gay, stupid and a waste of time. So when it came as part of the P90x package I thought "all right, fine, time to try this out and see if it really helps" and ya know what? it didn't. I did 25 minutes of the 90 minute workout and was totally bored out of my mind. The poses were stupid, the mellow mood they tried to put out didn't work and the names of the movements were just pants on head retarded. I've never felt more stupid than trying to do "downward facing dog to (insert some word I can't spell here) salutations or whatever the hell it was. Maybe I'll give it another shot, I've heard it's the most difficult part of the vids, but I just don't see it, there were only a couple of the poses that I wasn't able to do fully and I was only missing those by a little bit. Also, at no point did I get the impression that any of these moves would help me spit fireballs or stretch my arms out to hit an opponent on the other side of an arena. Bonus points if you get that reference.
P90x Day 3
Arms and shoulders day. This was cool since my arms are already lightly developed, or so I thought. Again, a very punishing routine that I'm happy to say I made it through nearly all the exercises. I didn't do very many reps on some of them, but I did 'em. I'm starting to drink the kool-ade they're selling because after doing the two strength workouts and the attempt I made at the cardio workout (not to mention the crazy ab workout you do on strength days) there's no way you won't get crazy ripped with this. My body has always responded well to exercise, I just don't do it cause my brain is lazy and doesn't want to. Now, with just over a month till my wedding, I'm kinda curious how my results are going to be and curiosity has always won out over laziness with me.
P90x Day 2
Plyometrics. Yeah, never heard of it before. After trying to do it, I never want to hear about it again. After about 15 mins of a 60 min. routine, I was spent and had to stop since I was afraid I would hurt myself and pull something. Again, I don't like being defeated so I'm just gonna have to go harder when this comes back around.
P90x Day one
Worked on the chest and back today. These routines are just crazy. All my workouts at the gym never made me this sore. I'm for sure looking forward to more of these cause there were a few that I couldn't do. Like diamond push-ups. Yeah, I got zero reps in with that. Looks like I may have found the motivation to keep going in the fact that I hate being defeated like that.
What happened?
Damn. Almost a year since I've published anything here, so I'll try and catch things up in a hurry. My on again, off again relationship with the gym continued up until January when I just lost the time to go. I made some progress, losing about 15 pounds. Since then, I've gained about 20 pounds back, putting me at about 245. The good news is I've started P90x and I'm hoping I'll be able to stick with it for once. I'm going to be trying to keep up with my chronicles here again as I go through the program. No pics this time, no one wants to see me right now, not even me.
