Day 57
Hit a small milestone today. I was under 230 pounds for the first time in months. 229, one pound under but hell I'll take it. It seems like this working out stuff may be paying off since even though I haven't been going consistently I'm still losing weight. Now, just 39 more pounds to go.

Day 55
Real life sucks
Every time I try and get this stuff started it seems like real life gets in the way. I was just getting into a rhythm and then I got sick and had to quit for a while. Now my first week back after that and I've only managed two out of 5 days this week due to schedule and stuff. It should not be this damn hard. Guess I'll start again next week and hope I can get through them all.

Day 50
Yeah, yeah I skipped some.
Been a while since I posted last. Basically I got tired of posting the same things day after day. So here's a brief update on where I'm at. I'm down 7 pounds and 1% body fat over all. I was down more % than that but I've been out of the gym for two weeks due to illness and it seems I lose muscle as quick as I gain it.
In other news I've changed up my routine. I figured out the hard way that I was overworking my arms and couldn't get all the reps in that I needed on each machine so I've split them up and I've divided my elliptical runs into two 15 minute sets instead of one 30, which burns about the same but doesn't make me feel like I'm gonna collapse. Here's what the revised schedule looks like.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Elliptical: 15 minute Hill intervals level 4 @ 75rmps x2
Treadmill: 20 minutes @ 3.6 mph and 8% incline
Weights: 3 sets of 10 @ 70lbs on Curls, Bench press, and Tricep pull down.
3 sets of 10 @ 90lbs on both leg machines.
Tuesday, Thursday: Elliptical: 15 minute Hill intervals level 4 @ 75rmps x2
Treadmill: 20 minutes @ 3.6 mph and 8% incline
Weights: 3 sets of 10 @ 60lbs on shoulder press
3 sets of 10 @ 70lbs on Lat pull down and seated row
Gonna keep this until I need to go up in weight again which feels like it could be soon on the curls and the leg machine. Funny story from the time I haven't been writing, I tried doing a standing row and as per my other workouts I started at 70 pounds. Yeah, that was not nearly enough weight as I nearly knocked my head off with the bar it came up so fast. Guess I didn't know my own strength. Luckily there was no one else in the gym to witness it.

Big ride today so no gym again. Going to be doing plenty of walking tonight so that should make up for it.....right?

Skipped the gym today and horribly broke my diet cause I had a date and didn't have time to go to the gym and get back for a shower. I know, it's terrible of me.

Day 13
Weights day again at the gym. Finally got my 3 sets in at 70pounds on the bench press but couldn't get the reps done at 60lb on the shoulder press. Seems like whichever one I do last is the one that's not getting done. Everything else is running smooth.

Not much of anything for today. Day off from work so no gym since gas is a little tight for me and my cheep mode of transport was out of the question due to rain. Under calories for the day so I suppose it's still all good.

Day 11
More work. Gym time was productive though. Added a 4% incline to my 20 minute treadmill work out and I'm getting ready to try and add another 5 minutes to the elliptical working back up to the 40 min work out I was at before. I have a love/hate relationship with that machine. I hate it and it loves to damn near kill me. Went up to 90 pounds on my leg weights today from the 80 I was doing and I still don't feel like I'm working them hard. I'm worried about damage though so I'm trying to keep the weight low. Still struggling with the 3 sets @ 70lbs on the bench press but I guess that's good cause if it's easy you're not doing it right.

Another day, another 50 cents
Sunday, gym closed. Not that I need it with all the running I did at work today. Another diet killer, as I stopped at Subway and picked up a footlong buffalo chicken sub with extra cheese and ranch. Tasted amazing, guilt sucks.

Ummmm, yeah.
No gym today. Had to work and it was closed when I got off so I couldn't make it in to do anything. To make matters worse, I pretty much killed my diet by grabbing McDonald's after work and then utterly destroyed it when I went to my RPG night/pot luck. I know, I know. This isn't me getting knocked off the horse, this is just me getting thrown in the air temporarily.
No gym today. Had to work and it was closed when I got off so I couldn't make it in to do anything. To make matters worse, I pretty much killed my diet by grabbing McDonald's after work and then utterly destroyed it when I went to my RPG night/pot luck. I know, I know. This isn't me getting knocked off the horse, this is just me getting thrown in the air temporarily.

Blogging everyday is tougher than it first sounded like, so I'm gonna catch up on these. I'm going to stop uploading pics cause it's just a colossal PITA to get one pic a day off my phone and into picassa so I'm just going to wait till the end and put 'em all together in a video or something.

Day 7
One week down, 51 to go.
Little bit of progress, my weight is down to 234 so 3 pounds in a week, it would be awesome to be able to keep that up but it never happens that way. 190 is my eventual goal and it will be reached.
Bit of a lazy day today. Day off from work and don't really have the gas to spare to drive to the gym just for a bit of cardio. Way under budget for calories though today. Back to the gym tomorrow for more weights. Took a pic but I don't feel like uploading it right now since it's a total pain in the ass to get it off my phone and into Picassa. I'll load it tomorrow.

No pic today. Kinda fell asleep on the couch and didn't feel like taking one after I woke up. Looks like I may have to bump the weights up faster than I thought as the 6 pounds on the curls is already feeling a bit light. Also, bumped the elliptical time up to 25 minutes. Didn't think I would be moving stuff up so quickly but I guess I'm picking up steam from the last time I left off.

Day 5
Success! and failure!
Cardio only day at the gym, gotta let these massive biceps rest ya know. I'm pretty happy with myself. Picked up a box of Zebra Cakes and put it back down, got some grapes instead. I did however get a Gino's East frozen pizza and proceeded to half of it putting myself over my calorie limit for the day. First time I've been over in since I started this. Tomorrow I do the cardio and weights and it's pretty much lather, rinse, repeat after that. Results are gonna come, I just have to keep telling myself that. I've cut sweets out almost totally, which is a massive deal for me. On a side note, I am starting to see some minor, minor definition in my shoulders and arms, still nothing in the midsection where I need it, but I just gotta keep working.

Day 4
Kinda doing everything backwards today. Had to work the late shift so after almost no sleep, went to the gym anyway. Then came home crashed and now putting up my post. Standard gym schedule, nothing changing as of yet, though I may be going up in weight on the two leg machines and the curls. Still only 20 mins on the elliptical though cause I'm pretty sure it wants to kill me.

Day 3
Failure is sometimes an option.
Gym closed again today(they're usually closed on Sundays) so I'm going with the "at home" routine today. Gonna have to lessen the amount I'm doing though since my arms just totally gave out during a set of pushups and my bike just doesn't want to cooperate with me. It's old and the gears just don't want to work, so it either feels like dragging a two ton elephant with me or that moving the pedals isn't doing anything, they just spin. Food wise, I managed to stay under my calorie count for yesterday and that was with some semi-heavy snacking. Said snacks are now gone so I should be way under today. We'll have to see I guess, no one said it would be easy.

20 mins treadmill @ 3.6 mph no incline
Full body weights 3 sets of 10 at 60-80 pounds depending on the area

Start with a Purpose
Here's the deal. I'm starting this blog with the full intent that maybe it'll help me keep going on a journey I've started and stopped way to many times. Recently I was listening to my random iTunes selection and the song "I Wanna Feel Something" by Trace Adkins came up. I've heard this song a bunch as he is one of the only new country artists I like. This time was different though. The line "Dammit all to hell, I'm done.......'Cause I don't like what I've become" resonated with me like it hadn't before and I knew that I have to do something. A shit or get off the pot moment as I realized I had been just sitting there for a long time. So, I woke up the Drill Sargent in my head (he's now REALLY pissed off) and set to work. I'm getting back into my gym routine and my workout routine at home and changing the way I eat. Cutting portions and trying to eat better, which is scary for me cause I'm basically clueless on how to cook anything that doesn't come from a freezer. A word of warning. There will be pics of me shirtless in this blog, so if you don't want to see mounds of uncovered gelatinous fat then I suggest you don't look after the breaks of any of my posts. You have been warned. I'm hoping in a years time I won't have that problem anymore.
