P90x Day 3

Arms and shoulders day. This was cool since my arms are already lightly developed, or so I thought. Again, a very punishing routine that I'm happy to say I made it through nearly all the exercises. I didn't do very many reps on some of them, but I did 'em. I'm starting to drink the kool-ade they're selling because after doing the two strength workouts and the attempt I made at the cardio workout (not to mention the crazy ab workout you do on strength days) there's no way you won't get crazy ripped with this. My body has always responded well to exercise, I just don't do it cause my brain is lazy and doesn't want to. Now, with just over a month till my wedding, I'm kinda curious how my results are going to be and curiosity has always won out over laziness with me.

P90x Day 2

Plyometrics. Yeah, never heard of it before. After trying to do it, I never want to hear about it again. After about 15 mins of a 60 min. routine, I was spent and had to stop since I was afraid I would hurt myself and pull something. Again, I don't like being defeated so I'm just gonna have to go harder when this comes back around.

P90x Day one

Worked on the chest and back today. These routines are just crazy. All my workouts at the gym never made me this sore. I'm for sure looking forward to more of these cause there were a few that I couldn't do. Like diamond push-ups. Yeah, I got zero reps in with that. Looks like I may have found the motivation to keep going in the fact that I hate being defeated like that.

What happened?

Damn. Almost a year since I've published anything here, so I'll try and catch things up in a hurry. My on again, off again relationship with the gym continued up until January when I just lost the time to go. I made some progress, losing about 15 pounds. Since then, I've gained about 20 pounds back, putting me at about 245. The good news is I've started P90x and I'm hoping I'll be able to stick with it for once. I'm going to be trying to keep up with my chronicles here again as I go through the program. No pics this time, no one wants to see me right now, not even me.

Day 57

Hit a small milestone today. I was under 230 pounds for the first time in months. 229, one pound under but hell I'll take it. It seems like this working out stuff may be paying off since even though I haven't been going consistently I'm still losing weight. Now, just 39 more pounds to go.

Day 55

Real life sucks

Every time I try and get this stuff started it seems like real life gets in the way. I was just getting into a rhythm and then I got sick and had to quit for a while. Now my first week back after that and I've only managed two out of 5 days this week due to schedule and stuff. It should not be this damn hard. Guess I'll start again next week and hope I can get through them all.

Day 50

Yeah, yeah I skipped some.

Been a while since I posted last. Basically I got tired of posting the same things day after day. So here's a brief update on where I'm at. I'm down 7 pounds and 1% body fat over all. I was down more % than that but I've been out of the gym for two weeks due to illness and it seems I lose muscle as quick as I gain it.

In other news I've changed up my routine. I figured out the hard way that I was overworking my arms and couldn't get all the reps in that I needed on each machine so I've split them up and I've divided my elliptical runs into two 15 minute sets instead of one 30, which burns about the same but doesn't make me feel like I'm gonna collapse. Here's what the revised schedule looks like.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday: Elliptical: 15 minute Hill intervals level 4 @ 75rmps x2
                                               Treadmill: 20 minutes @ 3.6 mph and 8% incline
Weights: 3 sets of 10 @ 70lbs on Curls, Bench press, and Tricep                                                                 pull down.
3 sets of 10 @ 90lbs on both leg machines.

Tuesday, Thursday: Elliptical: 15 minute Hill intervals level 4 @ 75rmps x2
                                Treadmill: 20 minutes @ 3.6 mph and 8% incline
Weights: 3 sets of 10 @ 60lbs on shoulder press
3 sets of 10 @ 70lbs on Lat pull down and seated row

Gonna keep this until I need to go up in weight again which feels like it could be soon on the curls and the leg machine. Funny story from the time I haven't been writing, I tried doing a standing row and as per my other workouts I started at 70 pounds. Yeah, that was not nearly enough weight as I nearly knocked my head off with the bar it came up so fast. Guess I didn't know my own strength. Luckily there was no one else in the gym to witness it.
